May all beings everywhere be happy and free
May the thoughts, words and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all
After I stumbled upon yoga in the stressful lifestyle of London living, I discovered how loving and inclusive the community was and felt a lot of support from everyone around.
To begin with I loved how the physical practice would challenge me and I could see how much my body was capable of doing with the right discipline.
I also started to notice after a while how these certain parts of the practice would interfere with some mental blockages that I would have. With time however I started seeing these mental blockages starting to faint away and in the end I was all absorbed in the practice of Yoga.
Being very familiar with the loneliness in a big city I really appreciated how open the community was and how inclusive everyone was to me. It reminded me in many ways of the climbing community which I was quite familiar with where everyone would share and help as best as they could.
I love to explore and have always been active since a young age. I used to play Football back in Norway, up to a semi-professional level. Next to this I worked as an electrician in my early 20's before I was in the Norwegian Army working as a firefighter.
My first job in London was as a Personal Trainer, working closely with a Chiropractic clinic in Notting Hill, London. Working closely with the clients and helping them recover from injuries has taught me so much about how to approach life's challenges.
One of my favourite things to do is climbing whether it’s on an indoor wall or on the way up Matterhorn in all it’s glory. I've also done a lot of running in my days and have actually finished an Ultra Marathon. Although I’m finding it challenging to keep the running up and increase my flexibility and still sneak in a run here and there. Definitely prefer running in the woods or on a mountain track, I love pushing myself and see how far I can go!
In my journey to discover myself, I've found that yoga is the perfect tool. It's a practice that can help us all find our personal power, and it's something I'm so grateful for having discovered. Yoga has helped me to open up my mind, body and soul to new experiences. It's taught me breathing techniques and chanting that help me stay calm in any situation, and asana practice that helps me feel strong and confident.
When I discovered yoga, it was like discovering a whole new world. There is something magical about the way you can connect with yourself and others through the practice of yoga. It's so much more than just moving your body, it's about learning how to tune into your body's needs, and then responding to them in an empowering way.
I am constantly striving to help others discover their own personal power through the practice of yoga. I want to encourage everyone who practices it or wants to try it out - especially those who are just starting out - by helping them find their own path with a supportive community around them.
